Last Post Before Off To MCF

Today was once again another amazing day. In the morning we had culture lessons it was very interesting to see the similarities and differences between the Kenyan culture and Canadian culture. This culture class was preparing us to go to the market. After lunch we headed off to the market I was a little stressed about going because I thought it was going to be very overwhelming and would not know what to get but surprisingly it was a lot of fun. I got a lot of really unique stuff which I am very excited about. Bargaining was actually a lot of fun and I was able to get all of my souvenirs half off of what the original prices were. I was a little nervous to have to bargain but then I went in with the mindset that every vendor was my dad and that I was just talking with him and I don't take no for an answer and push until I get what I want. The method worked and I was able to be successful. I was also able to practice my Swahili and make some new friends which was fun!

This trip has been so amazing so far and I cannot describe how grateful I am for it. God is working and is changing my perspective on things. Although the group is small it actually works out better because we are turning into a close knit group who is super comfortable with each other and laughs so much.

I hope all is well on the other side of the world and I will blog soon! Tomorrow is going to be an emotional day because we will be walking through the slums... Don't know how to prepare myself for tomorrow but I feel like it is not something you can prepare for because you can't comprehend what we will be seeing tomorrow.

I'll See Ya,
A.S. <333
